DIY:Origami lucky stars

Hey Guys!

I have been quite busy lately so I couldn't post anything new on my blog but now I am back with a tutorial for Origami lucky stars.

I saw a pin on these 'Origami lucky stars' a while ago on Pinterest. They were so cute and easy to make so I automatically started to make a bunch of those, but as usual, I just forgot about it before completing them all. Fortunately, I came across them again some before a week or so, and I immediately decided to make a tutorial for these.

These stars can be given as a gift after filling them in a jar (you can try different colour combinations), Decorate your room with these origami star-jars or you can write notes, quotations or motivations on it and keep it for yourself.

For this DIY you need:
  • Coloured Paper
  • Scissors
  • A jar, bottle or box (transparent)
  • Pen
  • Ruler

1. To make these stars, first take a colored paper and measure out how big you want your stars to be. I decided to go with small stars as they looked more cuter. So I made 1cm wide lines on the paper.

2. Then you have to cut out these lines and do the same with other coloured papers. You will now have long thin stripes of paper like these:

3. Take a strip of paper and tie a loose knot at one end and flatten it. Try not to leave any gaps at the
edges of this knot

4. Fold the end of the paper (on the right) and tuck it in the knot, you can cut it shorter if it is too long.

5. Then fold the remaining strip around the pentagon, keeping the shape of pentagon as it is.

6. Now tuck this end inside to finish the folding part.

7. Your will now have a pentagon shape. To complete this, you will have to pinch of the sides to create the pointy end.You can do this by pressing firmly but gently using your fingernails.

Now you can make a whole bunch of stars and fill your jar with it to complete your DIY.

Introduction to Art Addict Blog

Hey Guys!

Welcome to my blog. I am the Art Addict blogger. I am a Pakistani girl who lives in Qatar.

I am starting this blog to share my passion of art with everyone. I myself am not a professional or expert in this field but yeah, I can create some beautiful pieces. I have been interested in arts as long as I can remember. I have always been decorating old stuff into modern and presentable items. It's my dream to become a professional artist.

In this blog, you will find many different types of arts. Firstly, I would be posting pictures of handmade painting, sketches, drawings and random doodles, not only to share my creations with everyone but so you could join my journey in learning how to splash your creativity and imagination on a canvas.

Next, of course I would share tutorials, ideas and inspiration for recycled crafts and storage. I would love if you would send me ideas for crafts which I can feature in my blog. As I also love to knit, crochet, cook, and make friendship bracelets, so I would be posting such tutorials too. Apart from these, I would love to share my writings and makeup reviews and tips, as I am quite interested in beauty and fashion things and I strongly believe that makeup is a form of art.

There is something else as well that I want you peeps to know; I am a HUGE books and movie lover. But of course I prefer reading over watching. I can literally never stop reading online books, I am a fan of fictional, fantasy and mystery books. You can say it's my hobby - collecting books and watching movies, so I might as well give movies and books reviews for all those book-lovers out there. I would also love if you would give me books suggestions for reading.

So this was all about the main theme of this blog. I hope that you all will join my journey in colouring my canvas. Make sure to follow me as many fun things are coming ahead. J
