DIY:Origami lucky stars

Hey Guys!

I have been quite busy lately so I couldn't post anything new on my blog but now I am back with a tutorial for Origami lucky stars.

I saw a pin on these 'Origami lucky stars' a while ago on Pinterest. They were so cute and easy to make so I automatically started to make a bunch of those, but as usual, I just forgot about it before completing them all. Fortunately, I came across them again some before a week or so, and I immediately decided to make a tutorial for these.

These stars can be given as a gift after filling them in a jar (you can try different colour combinations), Decorate your room with these origami star-jars or you can write notes, quotations or motivations on it and keep it for yourself.

For this DIY you need:
  • Coloured Paper
  • Scissors
  • A jar, bottle or box (transparent)
  • Pen
  • Ruler

1. To make these stars, first take a colored paper and measure out how big you want your stars to be. I decided to go with small stars as they looked more cuter. So I made 1cm wide lines on the paper.

2. Then you have to cut out these lines and do the same with other coloured papers. You will now have long thin stripes of paper like these:

3. Take a strip of paper and tie a loose knot at one end and flatten it. Try not to leave any gaps at the
edges of this knot

4. Fold the end of the paper (on the right) and tuck it in the knot, you can cut it shorter if it is too long.

5. Then fold the remaining strip around the pentagon, keeping the shape of pentagon as it is.

6. Now tuck this end inside to finish the folding part.

7. Your will now have a pentagon shape. To complete this, you will have to pinch of the sides to create the pointy end.You can do this by pressing firmly but gently using your fingernails.

Now you can make a whole bunch of stars and fill your jar with it to complete your DIY.
